Pregnancy Pilates

Pregnancy Pilates

Pregnancy Pilates works on breathing, posture, balance, hip and core strength, and pelvic floor coordination with exercises adapted to your week of pregnancy and your symptoms. The goal isn't intense training, but helping you move more comfortably throughout pregnancy and prepare for birth.

Short answer: If your doctor has cleared you to exercise, Pilates at an appropriate intensity and adapted by a physiotherapist is generally safe in a low-risk pregnancy. Movements are modified according to your week of pregnancy, your energy and your symptoms.

Who is pregnancy Pilates suitable for?

It is suitable for women whose pregnancy is progressing normally and whose doctor has cleared them to exercise. If you haven't exercised before, you start with short, gentle sessions; your physiotherapist adjusts the program to your week of pregnancy.

Benefits of pregnancy Pilates

  • Can help reduce lower back and hip pain
  • Improves breathing and pelvic floor coordination
  • Supports posture, balance and ease of everyday movement
  • Helps you get to know your body as you prepare for birth

How do the sessions work?

At your first appointment, your week of pregnancy, health history and any symptoms such as pain or urinary leakage are assessed. Then a personalized exercise program is created and updated as your pregnancy progresses. Sessions can be held in person in Kadıköy or online.
